For those who don’t know what Nurse Redheart’s Roundup is, it’s a blood drive run by Bronies for Good that took place in the month of September. Well, September was a pretty narrow time frame, so they’re making things more efficient and meaningful to those in need. Head below the break to see everything that’s in store for the new Redheart’s Roundup.
After we finished freaking out about the Twilightception picture (above), we realized we had a new announcement to go along with it. So, while it saddens our hearts to see Ms. St. Germain unable to attend physically, BABScon now has a certain voice of a certain somepony who, as of the 2013 Herd Census, is best pony. See the entire news bulletin after the break.
It is a sad day in pony. Tabitha St. Germain, slated to be attending the Bay Area Brony Spectacular, also known as BABScon, has regrettably announced that she will no longer be able to be there personally. BABScon has plenty of great attendees announced and the convention is still well worth attending, but losing Tabitha at a convention is one of the leading causes of depression, according to a survey I just took that consisted of a single person. Full press release is after the break.
So, we’ve seen this kind of article pop up many a time in the past. I won’t say that this one has a high amount of new ground to cover, but, in addition to having a mother’s positive perspective on specific aspects of the show, the interview with her daughter (choice excerpt pictured above) also covers what a little girl likes as well. All I really have to say is, with a website like Antenna Free TV, it took them long enough to give us an MLP article. I’d look to see if they’d done more, but I can’t find the search function.
‘Tis the season! No, not pony season… the season of giving! And pony season too. Bluescreen Bronies will be hosting an entire 48-hour-long event with interviews, giveaways, and gaming, all the in the name of helping out a cause. Which cause, you ask? The charity organization Child’s Play, who seeks donations for children’s hospitals specifically through the gaming industry, which happens to include our friends over at Bluescreen Bronies. The stream isn’t until December 20th, so you’ve got plenty of time to prepare, too! Head below the break for all the important information.
Over here at The Daily TMZ, we like to document everything. We’re regular little Featherweights over here. That’s why, when we saw this article from The Mary Sue, we knew it was fated to be. Showcased in this amazing picture, you can see not only the army of ponies looking expectantly at you to love them, but further back, you can also see a seemingly MLP-themed tape dispenser and glass. I’m not sure if that hairbrush is MLP-themed at a glance, but it is on the table.
Also, that lacking of the ‘s at the end of Lauren is pretty adorable.
Time flies! One moment you’re at the convention, the next moment plans are underway for the next one. Time to get thinking, get submitting, and get creating for your panel ideas! Got something you want to share with the brony community? Well, the staff at Everfree Northwest are ready to listen. Check out all the information below the break to find out how to potentially host a panel of your very own.
That time already? Ah, but it is! To those prospective salesmen and saleswomen who have something unique to offer our brony crowd, now is the time to apply as a BronyCon vendor. Head below the break for all the information you need to get selling at the world’s biggest brony convention!
Friendship. It’s in the title of the show, and most definitely a central theme of the new generation of My Little Pony. It drives actions, saves nations, and gives viewers the warm fuzzies when things work out all right. As said by Twilight Sparkle, “Friendship is a wondrous and magical thing, and like the path cut through the orchard, there will always be a way through.” (The Return of Harmony P2)
So, is the magic of friendship something that all bronies feel in their hearts? The answer to that riddle is no. Friendship, despite being the central pillar of the show which all things are built upon, is pathetically underrepresented in the brony community. There’s acting and there’s pretending, but an incredibly high number of bronies balk at the notion of friends being meaningful.
All right, time to teach ourselves some new lingo. Anyone know what global media is? Just what the name says: Media that reaches to a global audience. For Hasbro’s US market, the company that handles global media has been IGP Mediabrands’ Initiative, apparently.
Well, Hasbro just switched the game up. After a bidding war, the company OMD, which is a subsidiary of Omnicom Group, the largest global media conglomerate in the world, has now taken over the US market, as well as pretty much every single other market except Latin America. For whatever reason, the Latin American market is still being held by global media company Group M/MediaCom.
What does this mean, exactly? Well… this humble news-pony is no marketing professional, but this could mean a very different take on how ponies are received by the world, as well as Hasbro’s other IPs.
Let’s try to simplify this: Global media involves any type of media concerning a company. So, Hasbro doesn’t take care of their media; their global media company does. That means what’s tweeted, what’s commercialized (outside of The Hub, I think, but maybe inside as well), what’s put on store shelves… all of it may be in for a change. That’s not a good thing or a bad thing yet; we need to see if any and what serious changes are made to know that.
I’m not certain how far off the mark I am in this analysis; all the learning that Google and Wikipedia can provide isn’t as much as what a business major could give. If you’d like to read the initial announcement yourselves, check it out over here. And, as always, question Hasbro.
